10 Things I Miss Most
After moving to Louisiana nearly three months ago and then visiting Nashville for a weekend, it really makes me appreciate my home town. These are the things I miss most (in no particular order). Some I expected to miss, others I did not.
- Nashville radio (Not just lightning 100, but radio in general. There are NO country stations in New Orleans!)
- Seeing my niece grow and learn new things - like walking and talking.
- Mexican food. I can get Thai food all day long down here, but Mexican restaurants are few and far between.
- The change of seasons. Leaves are still green here and I guess they won’t change, considering they are all evergreen.
- My job. I like my new job, but I miss everything about my old job. My co-workers, the company culture, the 7 MINUTE COMMUTE, and the actual job itself believe it or not!
- Jet’s Pizza
- Knowing where I am going, pretty much 100% of the time.
- My house. Especially sitting on the front porch on Saturday mornings and reading a magazine while drinking coffee, the fenced in backyard and the deck we never got to enjoy. I’m sure the pups miss that too.
- Friends. This stage of life is really difficult to make new friends, especially in a place where we came knowing pretty much no one. We’ve met some new neighbors and done a few things with them and also with Greg’s co-workers, but I still haven’t found any good girlfriends. I really miss my girl time.
- Family. This is a given. Greg and I are both super close with our families and it’s hard not seeing them as often as we used to. Although, we don’t see them as much as we want, the time we do spend with them will be spent doing more quality things together.
Coming up…things I DON”T miss.
